ABOUT US

Valley of Freeport

What is a Freemason?

Freemasonry is not a religion, nor a secret society. WE are simply an organization with the guiding principles of striving to better ourselves and strengthen our community. We sponsor many scholarships and the Children’s Dyslexia Center. We aspire to make a significant impact to better the lives of people.

Members of the Scottish Rite seek to:

  • Continue the ethical and moral teachings and philosophies of the Masonic Blue Lodge.
  • Exalt the dignity of every person, the human side of his daily activities, and the maximum service to humanity.
  • Aid mankind’s search in God’s universe for identity for development and for destiny, becoming wiser and better men to influence the world to become a better place.
  • Expand our knowledg of Masonry
  • WIden your circle of acquaintances and make a positive impact on humanity.

The Valley of Freeport was chartered in 1867. The current Freeport Masonic Temple was built in 1928 and is the home of Evergreen Lodge, the Freeport White Shrine, as well as Valley of Freeport Scottish Rite.

The Valley of Freeport meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Crystal Room. We also have an annual meeting in May and both a Spring and Fall Reunion. We offer many events to our membership that are also open to the public, including golf outings, dinner theater and concerts. Our Grand Ballroom, Crystal Room, and auditorium are available to rent by community members for their events.
